Gadgets, Doodads & Gizmos #7

GDG is back with another installment of technology out there that can be helpful but not necessarily known to the general public:

MuteWatch: These days it can be rather overwhelming to keep up with all the obligations we have while staying focused on our current tasks. While there are several devices out that remind us of those tasks, because of their repetitive alarms it is easy to become desensitized to them. For example I actually keep my alarm clock physically across the room to avoid the simple “snooze” button routine. However, the MuteWatch is a new way to keep a reminder of your schedule, similar to tying a string on your finger but much more tech savvy.

On Tour iBT : JBL, an electronic company, has released a new wireless speaker system that works with tablets like the iPad. Since tablets seem to be the future of mobile tech, it was inevitable that products catering to the new Post-PC world would spring up. From cuddling with your significant other waiting for Triple-A or playing DJ at a house party, this device can be very helpful in the right situation.

PassMyWill: Now this service threw me for a loop not only because of what it provides but also because it shows how every aspect of our lives are transorming because of technology. PassMyWill sends the usernames and passwords of someone recently deceased to their loved ones. With how important one’s online life is in our world, I suppose it really has gotten to this point. This service can also provide a way for information go out in a controlled way for such a sensitive and unfortunate event.
